do i need any previous experience playing rugby?
No previous experience is required to come out for our Rugby Duck club. Many past and current members of the club have had little to no previous experience playing rugby. We have a Starting side and a Developmental side that both generally play on match days. The goal is that everyone gets experience from practice, to playing time, to ensure growth and development as rugby players. Many different skill sets developed formerly from football, wrestling and soccer to swimming, basketball and track have aided some of our student-athletes in transitioning to rugby players. We also have had and have players currently who haven’t participated in sports much or ever. The game of rugby is worldwide and all encompassing to people from different walks of life! What a beautiful game and culture! Please do not hesitate to give rugby a try. It is always great to try something new. If it works out then fantastic! If it doesn’t work out then no big deal…you’ve tried something new, might have a different perspective and we might have another FAN!
